A Huge Hint
You have just carried out a BLAST search with a new protein.
The search has returned 100+ hits. If you look carefully at the hits, you will see that there are no exact matches.
Look at the graph (if you have used a system that does not produce a graph then look at the alignments). Notice anything?
You may have noticed a domain was indicated on the 'format' page at NCBI.
All the hits are the same region of the query protein (amino acids 85 - 220). Why?
Note the region of the hits (i.e. amino acids 85 - 220) and proceed to the ProSite and SMART searches.
