&nbsp;Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) is a peptide hormone produced and released by the [[Anterior pituitary gland|anterior pituitary gland]]. The release of the hormone causes the stimulation of the growth of ovarian follicles in the ovary before the release of an ovum. FSH is controlled by the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal-axis. The release of&nbsp;Gonadotrophin-releasing hormone stimulates the oroduction and release of FSH and also [[Luteinising|Luteinising Hormone]] (LH).
