A replication fork is formed during replication of the circular [[plasmid|plasmid]] during [[bacterial DNA replication|bacterial DNA replication]]. The fork originates at the [[OriC|''ori''C]], which is the Origin of Replication. Due to the circular shape of the plasmid, replication therefore advances equally down either side of the ''ori''C and terminates at the [[terC|''ter''C]]. This ensures fast and efficient replication and creates replication forks.
