Phenol is a hydrocarbon with the chemical formula C6H5OH. Its structure comprises of the benzene ring, except with a hydroxyl group -OH replacing one of the hydrogen atoms. Phenol may undergo chemical reactions with other molecules, for example with bromine Br2.
