The Staphylococcus genus consists of approximately 40 species of Gram-positive bacteria.
They appear round when viewed under a microscope and grow in clusters. Due to horizontal gene transfer, they have developed antibiotic/metal resistance.
They produce toxins which can lead to food poisoning and other bacterial infections.
