The ovaries produce two main hormones - oestrogen and progesterone, these control menstruation and pregnancy [1] [2][3]. During puberty the hormon oestrogen is responsible for the development of the mammary glands as well as the development of the uterus. Oestrogen also plays a role in controlling the uterine lining during the menstrual cycle. Porgesterone plays an important role during pregnany allowing the implantation of the embroy on the uterine lining and develop in the womb[4].
