 Uric Acid contains carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen in a heterocyclic compound, with the formula C5H4N4O3. it is found in urine, and is the product of the metabolic breakdown of purine nucleotides (xanthine and hypoxanthine) using xanthine oxydase enzymes. 

High concentrations of uric acid in blood induces gout, which causes pain as the needle-like crystals of uric acid precipitate in joints, capillaries, skin, and other tissues. The risk of gout is increased by consuming some types of purine-rich foods, particularly meat and seafood.
