A sperm is the male gamete (sex cell) which are made by spermatogenesis.
When a sperm has matured they will have 2 distinguishable parts; head and tail. The tail is called a flagellum which proivdes a motive force for the sperm to 'swim'.
They are very small only 4-5 micrometres long and carry 23 Chromosomes.
