Cerebrospinal fluid

Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is a fluid located in the brain and the spinal cord. It is produced by the choroid plexuses of the brain. In the spinal cord cerebrospinal fluid helps to maintain homestasis. It has a protective role in the brain as it helps cushions the brain and it also has a major importance in helping to keep the pressure inside the skull at the correct level. In both the brain and the spinal cord, CSF provides lubrication to the bones.
