Glutathione is a tripeptide. It has many uses such as being an [[antioxidant|antioxidant]] and as a [[sulfydryl|sulfydryl]] buffer. Glutathione[1] is a tripeptide. It has many uses such as being an antioxidant and as a sulfydryl buffer. It consists of a glutamate residue, cysteine residue, and a glycine residue. These are bonded to the central cysteine residue by an isopeptide bond from the glutamate's carboxylate side chain and the central cysteine's amino group[2].
