Angiotensin I is involved in the Renin-Angiotensin system, involved in controlling blood pressure and regulating the Na⁺ concentration in the blood. It is converted from Angiotensinogen, a reaction catalysed by Renin. Angiotensin I is cleaved by the Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) to produce the hormone, Angiotensin II^[1] .
