Cell division is a process which occurs in all living cells in which are parental cell divides into two or more cells. There are two types of cell division, Mitosis in which the parental cell divides into two genetically identical daughter cells usually for growth and repair and Meiosis in which the parental cell divides into four genetically different cells which are gametes.
