Tendons are high tensile strands of fibrous muscle tissue that attatch muscle to bone.

The golgi tendon organ is a reflex receptor which is responsible for detecting over "stretching" of muscle fibres and are situated at the junction between muscle fibres and the tendon.http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK10986/
