The Renal Artery are a group of arteries found off the side of the abdominal aorta-whose primary role is to supply a large portion of blood to the pair of kidneys. A third of total cardiac output goes hrough the renal arteries, to be filtered by the kidneys. The Renal Artery enters into each kideney through an opening, called a hilum.
