Heart Disease is primarily caused by atheroschlerosis. This is a condition where the walls of the arteries thicken due to an accumulation of WBC. Plaques begin to build up and form in the coronary artery walls, and over time the plaques harden[1]. This is known as an atheroma. This narrowing of the vessels impedes blood flow to the heart muscle.
