Maltose is a dissacharide that is formed when two monomers of alpha-glucose form an alpha 1,4 glycosidic bond.

A disaccharide is a carbohydrate polymer composed of two sugar monomers which are joined by a glycosidic bond formed by a condensation reaction. Maltose is a dissacharide that is formed when two monomers of alpha-glucose form an alpha 1,4 glycosidic bond.
