Renin, or angiotensinogenase, is an enzyme secreted by the kidney[1] which responsible for the regulation of arterial blood pressure. This is achieved by the mediation of extracellular fluid coupled with vasoconstriction of the arteries. The enzyme works by hydrolysing angiotensinogen to angiotensin I, which is further converted to angiotensin II by ACE.[2]
