As well as being a naturally occurring hormone, Adrenaline is also used in medicine to treat Anaphylaxis. Adrenaline is injected in the case of Anaphylactic shock, causing the constriction of blood vessels to increase the sufferer's blood pressure. The injection can also ease difficulty breathing due to a reduction in swelling an hence the dilation of the airways.<references />

Adrenaline (formula C9H13NO3, also known as epinephrine) is a naturally produced hormone within the human body. It is produced in the adrenal glands located above the kidneys and travels in the blood stream. It is usually associated with shock and may cause an increase in heart rate, increased respiratory rate, vasoconstriction, vasodilation and lipolysis. It is classified as part of the amine family.

As well as being a naturally occurring hormone, Adrenaline is also used in medicine to treat Anaphylaxis. Adrenaline is injected in the case of Anaphylactic shock, causing the constriction of blood vessels to increase the sufferer's blood pressure. The injection can also ease difficulty breathing due to a reduction in swelling an hence the dilation of the airways.
