The Cell Membrane provides many functions within the cell. these functions include acting as a barrier to seperate the internal environment of the cell and the exterior environment. Other functions inlcude cell communication and maintaing cell structure. The cell membrane consists of a lipid bilayer that is permeable to different ions, the lipid bilayer consists of phospholipids, sugars and protiens.
