A bond describes the attraction between two atoms. These bonds form due to electrostatic forces which pull positive and negative atoms and/or molecules together. There are many different types of bonds such as 'weak' bonds eg. van der Waals forces, Hydrogen bonds and Dipole Dipole bonds, or 'strong bonds' such as covalent and ionic bonds.
