Hypotension or low blood pressure is a medical condition in which the pressure in the arteries is significantly low enough to cause symptoms which arise because there is less blood reaching specific organs such as the heart and brain [1].
Symptoms
- Syncope (fainting)
- Lightheadedness
- Blurred vision
- Nausea,
- Heart palpitations
- Weakness[2]
Treatment
To reverse the symptoms of hypotension; blood pressure needs to be increased by inducing vasoconstriction and increasing blood volume. There are various way to increase blood pressure, many of which are life style changes; rarely medication[3]
