Amylopectin

Starch is made up of two components: Amylose and amylopectin. Amylopectin makes up the majority of starch - 70-80% compared to amylose which only makes up 20-30% of the Polysaccharide. Amylopectin is a large polysaccharide made of the monomer glucose.

In contrast to the linear structure of amylose, amylopectin is highly branched.
