Mitochondria

Mitochondria are known as the power houses of the cell. In sexual reproduction only the female gamete has mitochondria. This is because the male gamete which is the sperm uses up all it's mitochondria in swimming up to eggs. Mitochondria are an organelle situated in the cell where ATP synthesis takes place.
