Pharmacogenomics
Pharmacogenomics is the individualisation of drug therapies to patients using their genetic information. Sequencing a patients genome allows genetic variations to be identified, such as single nucleotide polymorphism. Tailoring treatment to an individual increases the effectiveness and reduces the chance of adverse side effects. (American Medical Association, 2014)[1]
