Pre-eclampsia
Pre-ecplamsia is an acute disease state in pregnant women, and is a leading cause of maternal mortality. Death results from failure to treat the pre-eclampsia, leading to Eclampsia with resulting Stroke, Liver rupture and pulmonary oedema[1].
Symptoms
-A main feature characterising pre-eclampsia is maternal hypertension with systolic BP >140mmHg.
