Elongation factors are a set of proteins that faciliate translation and elongation of protein synthesis.

Types of Elongation factors

EF- Tu

EF- Ts

EF- G

Function

EF- Tu: Binds GTP; brings aminoacyl- tRNA to the A site of ribosome
EF- Ts: Generates active EF- Tu
EF- G: Stimulates translocation; GTP- dependent[1]
