Drug elimination

 Drug elimination is the process by which drugs are metabolised and excreted from the body. Before elimination, most drugs need to be metabolised by the body. The main purpose of this process is to make the drugs less lipophilic and hence more water soluble. The majority of drugs are metabolised in the liver.
