T-tubules

T-tubules are invaginations of the muscle membrane (sarcolemma). Penetrating deep into the muscle fibre. Action potential inside t-tubules triggers Ca2+ release from terminal cisternae of the sarcoplasmic reiticulum, which in turn will produce a contraction.
