Friedel- Crafts model of Alkylation is the reaction of arenes with alkenes or alkyl halides. Arenes are aromatic hydrocarbons that contain a benzene ring and it is the presents of this ring structure which allows electrophilic aromatic substitution which leads to the synthesis of alkylated substances.
