Thrombocytes
Thrombocytes (platelets) are the type of blood cell. Their main task is to recognise a damaged vessel and make a blood clot. They are produced in the bone marrow by megakaryocytes[1]. They are the smallest of all blood cells with size of only 20% of the size of a red blood cell.
