Core Histones is one of the two types of histones. The other being Linker Histones. They form repeating units called nucleosome. Core histones are highly conserved and there are four different types H2A, H2B, H3 and H4. H3 has three crucial acetylated residues, H3K64ac, H3K122ac, and H3K56ac [1].
