Erythropoietin

Erythropoietin is a hormone secreted by the kidneys which stimulates erythropoiesis (red blood cell production). It is used as a treatment for anaemia [1]. Erythropoietin is encoded by a gene in the EPO/TPO family. <ref>http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gtr/genes/2056/ References
