Ventricles

The ventricles are the lower chambers in the Heart. They are larger than the upper chambers, called the atria. The flow of blood into the ventricles is pressure controlled, once the pressure in the atria is high enough it will cuase the atrioventricular valve to open and blood to flow into the ventricles, down the pressure gradient.
