Lactate dehydrogenase
Lactate Dehydrogenase also known as LDH is an enzyme which is used in anaerobic respiration (glycolysis). LDH is needed to oxidise the co-enzyme NADH to NAD+ in order to provide the cell with energy (2ATP).

The NADH+ has to be oxidised so that it can be reduced again to continue the cycle. The LDH converts pyruvate to lactate during this process.
