Scientific journals are a group of academic articles which show progress in a particular or variety of areas. These publications are normally published monthly but this may vary. Each arcticle in a scientific journal is written generally by one or more people of a scientific background. Scientific journals are not written by journalists, for the most part they are written by scientists, students and others within the scientific community. Scientific journals are a special publication because the articles within must be peer reviewed, this is to evaluate the work and make sure it is a valid piece of scientific research. It is through peer review journals decide if an article should be published. Most journals are very specific in the subject of interest such as The Journal of Biomedical jbiomedsci.biomedcentral.com/ although some of the oldest journals publish on various topics.
