Cardiac ischemia
Cardiac Ischemia (Ischemic/coronary heart disease) is the build-up of plaque in the coronary artery that results in the restriction of blood flow to the heart and therefore prevents the heart receiving oxygen[1][2]. The symptoms of ischemia is known as angina and this can lead to a Myocardial Infarction. Stents are used to treat Ischemia and increase the blood flow through the coronary artery[3].
