Phospholipid membrane
The phospholipid membrane is composed of the lipid bilayer. The lipid bilayer is a thin polar membrane formed from two layers of phospolipid molecules. The phospholipid molecules consist of a glycerol molecule, two fatty acids, and a phosphate group[1]. The phosphate group is hydrophillic and the fatty acids are hydrophobic. The structures of these phospholipid molecules contribute to the overall function of the membrane.
