Flow cytometry
Flow Cytometry is a technique used to analyse cells by passing one cell at a time through a laser beam; the light scatter shows the characteristics of the cell. The flow cytometry instrument consists of three main systems which it uses to carry out its function. These systems are: the fluid (moves particles in a stream of fluid to the laser beam), the electronics (carries out a change of light signals into electronic pulses) and the optics (made up of lasers for illumination of particles passing through cytometry).
