Hypothalamus

The hypothalamus is an important region of the brain which contols numerous different systems within the body and its main function is maintaining homeostasis via the secretion of different chemicals or hormones produced either by itself or by the pituitary gland which it controls.This allows the hypothalamus to mediate and control many behavioral functions and emotions. The hypothalamus also a vital part of the autonomic nervous system and therefore is responsible for many of the subconcious activites of the body [1].
