Catalysis is the process by which the rate of chemical reactions are sped up as it lowers the activation energy. Catalysts are also able to make a reaction viable in conditions that areusually unfavourable for the reaction. For example enzymes are biological catalysts which allow efficient chemical reactions to occur in the body at 37degrees.
