Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease causing inflammation in the brain and the spinal cord. It occurs due to demyelination of the fatty myelin sheath that surrounds axons in nerve cells. This leads to the loss of communication between nerve cells. The disease occurs more often in that of young adults often around the age of 30, and particularly in women.

A sufferer can show various signs and symptoms including:

  • Muscle weakness
  • Muscle spasms
  • Difficulty with movement or balance
  • Difficulty with speech
  • Problems with vision
  • Fatigue
