A hydrolytic enzyme is any enzyme that catalyses the hydrolysis of a chemical bond. These enzymes usually have a wide specificity such as Esterase which catalyses the breakdown of ester bonds.

Examples Include:

  • Proteases
  • Lipase
  • Phosphatase
  • Esterases
