Streptococci

Streptococci bacteria are Gram-Positive (although older cultures may lose this characteristic), capsulate, non-sporing/motile, and catalase-negative cocci that mostly grow at a temperature of 37^oC. Streptococci sometimes require enriched media and can exhibit haemolysis on blood agar.
