Α-Ketoglutarate dehydrogenase
From The School of Biomedical Sciences Wiki
Pronounced alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase, this is a complex formed from three kinds of enzymes found in the citric acid cycle (CAC).
It catalyses the oxidative decarboxylation of alpha-ketoglutarate to succinyl CoA[1].
The reaction is as follows:
alpha-Ketoglutarate + NAD + CoA -----► Succinyl CoA + CO2 + NADH
