Aldose

Aldoses are monosaccharides which contains one aldehyde group (-CH=O). They have a general formula of (CH2O)n.
They can come in a variety of lengths for example;
Glucose (6 Carbon), Glyceraldehyde (3 Carbon) and Ribose (5 Carbon).[1]
