Electrophoretic mobility shift assay
Electrophoretic mobility shift assay (also known as the EMSA) is an affinity-electrophoresis technique used to detect the binding of DNA-protein complexes. The Electrophoretic mobility is normally reduced when the DNA cognates to protein, causing a consequent shift in the region of the fragment band. This method is usually used to detect the transcription factor in protein, using DNA fragments containing regulatory element .
