FADH2 (reduced FAD) is the shorthand for reduced flavin adenine dinucleotide. . Produced by the reduction of FAD during the Citric acid cycle, it is an electron carrier and is required for many oxioreductases to function. An example of where FAD is reduced is when Succinate is converted to Fumarate during the Citric acid cycle.
