Polygenic dieases are associated with the effects of not just one gene, but multiple genes. Furthermore environmental factors also influence the development of polygenic diseases. Polygenic disorders include Multiple Sclerosis and Diabetes, they are hard to study as they do not follow simple inheritance patterns like single gene traits[1]. With multiple factors that influence phenotype it is difficult to establish cause and effect in polygenic diseases . With some polygenic dieases, there is a large genetic influence, where as others have a much larger environmental association. [2]
