Prophase I
Prophase occurs in both meiosis and mitosis. In meiosis prophase 1 the chromosomes are moved to form biavalents which is vitaile for accurate meotic divison because if it is not it may lead to brith defects as meosis forms gametes. Two processes occur in prophase 1 the regions of crossover on each homolugous chromosome pair are found . Also the bialvalent structure is now unable to revert back to its compact shape.
