Sperm is the male reproductive cell. The word sperm comes form the greek word for seed, 'sperma'. Sperm contains 23 chromosomes and is a haploid cell, since it contains half of its parents' chromosomes. The Sprem cell size consists of a head which is 5µm long and 3µm wide and a tail that is 50 µm long. [1]
